Have your say on the South Bristol Link
Consultation on the South Bristol Link started on Friday 4 May. The route will link Hengrove Park to the A370 Long Ashton bypass and the Park and Ride. You are invited to attend an exhibition to view the plans and discuss the proposals with the Project Team at:
- Long Ashton Village Hall, Keedwell Hill, Long Ashton, BS41 9DP on 9 May 2012, 2pm-8pm.
- Gatehouse Centre, Hareclive Road, Bristol BS13 9JN on 16 May 2012, 5pm-8pm.
- Withywood Community Centre, Queens Road, Bristol BS13 8QA on 22 May 2012, 2pm-6pm.
The South Bristol Link is a combined road and rapid transit route for buses to travel from the A370 to Hengrove Park, including new routes for cycling and walking. The route passes along Whitchurch Lane before cutting along the piece of green space next to the Gatehouse Centre all the way to Queens Road. It then heads up King George's Road, crosses Highridge Common until it meets the Bridgewater Road to head towards the A370 Long Ashton bypass and the Park and Ride.
Bristol City Council and North Somerset Councils are preparing a joint planning application for the South Bristol Link. This is part of the West of England Rapid Transit Network which is earmarked for funding by the Department for Transport. Before the application is submitted in Autumn 2012 you are invited to give your comments on the plans and attend exhibitions in your local area.
Further details of the scheme are available at www.travelwest.info/sbl (from 4 May) or your local council offices or by calling Tel: (01275) 882789.
